Season 2006- 2007

Another fantastic season finishing fifth for the second year running and capping it with a cup final. Jim Jeffries continues to work miracles on limited resources and should get recognised for the job he and Billy Brown are doing at Killie. Steven Naismith was a major player for Killie and may not stay with Killie for much longer, but the Killie board should not sell unless an offer of around 3+ million is received. Hopefully Steven Naismith will start next season in a Killie shirt though.

May Games

Killie finished the season off in style by winning the last three matches including an away victory at Ibrox which was Jim Jeffries first against the OF as a Killie manager. The results secured Killie fifth spot in the SPL at Hibs expense and demonstrated that even though Killie lost the cup final over a season they are the better team.

Hibs 0 1 Killie                        Rangers 0 1 Killie     Killie 1 0 Hearts

April Games

Killie have been treated disgracefully for the second year running Killie get 20 away games after the split compared to 18 home. It is time the SPL scrapped the split as it is a joke of a format and will never work as teams need equal number of games home and away. Lost all three games in April but against Hearts & Celtic were unlucky and could easily have got two draws. For some reason this season the Aberdeen matches have been poor for Killie which I think is more to do with Killie in these matches than Aberdeen being good.

Hearts 1 0 Killie         Killie 1 2 Celtic         Dons 3 0 Killie

March Games

The team failed to turn up for the cup final, but well done to the fans as 20,000 turned up on the day and the build up in the town was great. Major disappointment and will take a while to get over the cup final as the manor of our defeat was hard to take. In the league we did ok and how Aberdeen won at Rugby Park is unbelievable as Killie were far the better team and they only had a single shot on target which they scored from with Fowler scoring the other OG for them. They will need luck in Europe next season as they are not as good a team as they think they are.

February Games

Not many games this month due to Scottish Cup ties and Kille out of the cup. The Rangers game was a farce with the Ref Dougie McDonald giving a pathetic display of refereeing. Rangers were awarded a penalty that he even admitted after the game was wrong. There were plenty of other bad decisions also. Leading 1-0 at Dunfermline and then Simon Ford makes a stupid mistake and gets sent off and we end up drawing.

January Games

CONGRATULATION KILLIE  IN CIS CUP FINAL!!!, A roller coaster month which started badly with a terrible display and cup defeat at Morton and finished with a great Semi Final cup win against Falkirk and a couple of good league wins. Killie seem to have got back to form after a bad patch over Xmas period. Killie fur the CIS Cup???

December Games

December was a difficult month due to injuries and suspensions but started well with a 5-1 win over Dunfermline. The SPL could have used common sense and not sent Killie to Inverness the week before Xmas and Aberdeen on Boxing day. Against St Mirren and Motherwell at home we dropped points due to defensive errors and not being able to finish teams off and key players missing did not help. A special mention to Motherwell for coming to Rugby Park and kicking Killie off the park and it worked as they stole the points.

Killie 5 1 Pars            Killie 1 1 Buddies      Inverness 3 4 Killie      Killie 1 2 Well           Dons 3 1 Killie            Killie 0 0 Hearts

November Games

Killie reached the CIS Cup semi Final and with no OF left must have a good chance to progress to the final and even win the cup. In the league we continued to pick up points but dropping a few as well, but overall a good month.

October Programmes

October was a very good month for results and Killie bounced back very well after the Motherwell defeat. Beating Hearts in Edinburgh for the first time in five years was a result to saviour. The big disappointment was losing David Fenandez after a shocking tackle by Gary Caldwell against Celtic. David was outstanding in the game and the Celtic defence could not handle him and his reward for Nut Megging Caldwell is an injury that will keep him out for up to a year. Killie should have got a least a point against Celtic, but the tackle changed the game and the worst foul I have seen in years was rewarded by Celtic getting all three points and finishing the game with 11 men when it should have been 10. Get well soon David!!

September Programmes

The manager of the month curse struck Killie after Jim Jeffries getting manager of the month for August, form and results dipped in September. Motherwell was the worst result and performance for a couple of seasons. The only positive result was beating Livingston to reach the CIS QTR Finals for the first time since 2001, even though we only made it is extra time.

August Programmes

An excellent month for Kilmarnock where we remained unbeaten and managed to break our losing run against the OF. Congratulations to Jim Jeffries who was awarded manager of the month which was well deserved.

July Programmes

Killie played a number of pre-season games including taking part in the Ennstone Cup in Elgin. Good result in beating WBA 2-1 @ Rugby Park. Threave Rovers played a Kilmarnock IX and the programme is hard to find as there were limited numbers printed. Leage season started with a disappointing match away to Celtic.
